WARWICK, NY 12/18/24 - FlixPop Radio is set to make waves on your radio dial! Tune in every Saturday morning at 9:00 am for a dynamic weekly talk show focused on movies and pop culture. Catch it live on WGHT at 98.3 FM and 1500 AM, and on WTBQ at 93.5 FM and 1110 AM.

The show reaches a vast, cultured audience from Orange County, New York, to Northern New Jersey and New York City, tapping into a potential listenership of about 3.5 million people. Proudly hosted by WTBQ/WGHT, FlixPop Radio is supported by Northern New Jersey businesses, including Officially Social, Pizza One Italian Kitchen, Springpoint Senior Living, and esteemed estate planning attorney Rebecca Eckert.

FlixPop Radio is hosted by Paul Bastante, a seasoned industry professional and the founder and president of Silk City Films. Bastante has produced historical documentaries about Northern New Jersey towns, including "Bloomingdale An American Small Town" (2017), "Before A Nation The Story of Pequannock" (2018), "Hills & Valleys A Journey Through Wayne, N.J." (2019), and "Friendly Tolerable Characters" of Pompton Lakes (2024).

Bastante is renowned for his engaging and insightful interview style, creating a relaxed atmosphere that encourages openness and truthfulness. He also hosts "The Silk City Films Podcast" and is a writer, director, voice actor, and public speaker, drawing on the historical themes of his films for his presentations.

Radio is a new venture for Bastante, and the opportunity arose unexpectedly. "I was on The Lovelace Music Experience on GHT to promote the soundtrack of my new film. It was an incredible experience, far more comfortable than I anticipated. I met Frank after my interview in the parking lot, and he was so friendly and welcoming. We briefly discussed the possibilities," Bastante shared. "After further discussions with Taylor Sterling (Station Manager), they offered me a fantastic opportunity to bring my interview talents to radio."

It's been a bustling year for Bastante, culminating in the world premiere red carpet film release of "Friendly Tolerable Characters" of Pompton Lakes on December 27th at The Elks Lodge, 15 Perrin Avenue, Pompton Lakes. The red carpet opens at 3:30 pm, with the film screening following a brief ceremony at 6:00 pm.

Bastante is thrilled and honored by the chance to "talk to the world every week" and is eager to embrace this new challenge as the show launches on January 11th at 9:00 am.

"I am immensely grateful for the opportunity provided by the station and for Taylor Sterling's mentorship, which has equipped me with invaluable training and knowledge from her extensive career." He paused before continuing, "I am committed to being thoroughly prepared and seizing this opportunity in 2025."
